I levelled completely solo from 1-40 on my own. It wasn't so horrible, but really it was incredibly lonely and if I didn't have the motivation that I did on my own, I would have left somewhere before I even hit 20. The grind as a new player is kind of brutal, but that isn't any different than it was in retail c1. The issue is though that there are so few players in newbie areas you are often playing alone for hours without ever seeing another soul. In retail, players were everywhere. There were always parties in places like TI dungeon and other tougher hunting grounds.

It just isn't very friendly for new players, and if you don't already have friends on the server it can feel very ostracizing to not know a single person when it seems like the server is very old and everyone already knows everyone else.

I don't think xp and adena should just be handed out to newbies, but it should be a little easier than it currently is to start up on your own.

And to address the guy who suggested allowing people to bot: NO FUCKING WAY. Dual box has been allowed, that is more than fair for people to take advantage of. Botting is 100% out of the question as far as I'm concerned, and I will not think twice about whether to return or not if it is allowed on this server.

Short story: make things more newbie friendly in some way. Maybe not exactly GoD easy or anything that extreme, but just a little less grindey. It feels too lonely having to play solo, and having it feel like forever until you reach endgame, or even just upgrade to your next piece of gear just makes it even more unattractive for newcomers..

I understand, I just don't want people visiting forum to get the idea that many players complain of lag often, or are unnecessarily rude and mean to other players. I think the video looked really good, and in actuality it was probably more fun to watch than to actually be a part of the raid haha.

The lag problem was my internet =( It was causing me huge issues. The only reason I said it was because the orc was asking us to atk him so he can activate frenzy, and I said it wasnt a good idea, I would probably kill him by accident.

And the other member is a bit more of a complex issue.. I don't want to bring dirt to the surface because of it, but we had to make the best decision for the raid party. Many of us didnt have much time to continue on and we needed to move quickly.

It is sucky, but the party was open to everyone and we would love to accept anyone who wants to join in for raid boss for some exp and fun =)

I have seen her a bunch of times in real life, and she is ten times hotter in person.

Nicest person ever too, which just makes it so weird that I had such a crush on her when I was like eight, from a show that was meant for three year olds haha.

There is a soulshot 'tax' enabled on this server, meaning every weapon consumes one more shot than is listed in the description.

I think it is a relic from a few wipes ago when the server used to run heavily on donations and you could pay to have the tax removed and some other benefits like xp bonus and higher drop rate, but somehow the shot tax is still imposed. Maybe I am incorrect though, I never played here back then.

It doesn't make much sense to me really, it only seems to hurt newbies who are poor. Players who are already playing here will be able to sustain ss use easily anyway.

But, it is what GM wants, so we deal with it.
