I have tried to log in yesterday, and the day before that, also today - just a few times, once or twice in a few hours. Nothing happened. Game is still inactive. It seems it is a much harder challenge to run L2 on a Mac via Wine than I thought in the beginning.

As I am not an expert in such matters and having exhausted every possibility I can think of I can admit defeat. Too bad.

So I have tried to do everything again. Uninstalled L2 from the computer using wine uninstaller, removed all remaining files associated with it.

Here is what I did step by step:

  1. Disabled AVast and firewall;
  2. Downloaded L2 exe client and system patch;
  3. Installed L2 (without any issues, just like before);
  4. Deleted system folder and replaced it with the downloaded one;
  5. Firewall and Avast still disabled;
  6. Launched the game - the on-screen picture appeared together with a notificaion "The game may not be consistent because AGP is deactivated. Please activate AGP for consistancy." Pressed OK and the game loaded;
  7. Entered ID and PSW and pressed Log in - nothing happened
  8. Exited the game screen and checked terminal;
  9. That's what the terminal showed:

wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Lineage\ II\ c3/system/L2.exe

Sadly I did not make any progress. Any more suggestions?

Hmm, so you think it's my Avast that is preventing L2. Why do you think so? During installation I did not receive any warnings whatsoever. Today I'll try reinstalling everything with AVast disabled.

Should I be successful in finally launching L2 I will definitely let everyone know how I did it.

I have replaced system file with the one you provided. Effect is the same - after entering ID and PWD Log in button does nothing. According to my wine uninstaller I have only L2 and EVE installed. My firewall settings indicate I am allowing wine server all incoming connections (otherwise I would not be able to play EVE). AVAST is disabled for the moment. After running wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Lineage\ II\ c3/system1/L2.exe I get the following:

wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Lineage\ II\ c3/system1/L2.exe

I have no clue what tis means. First 3 stubs are caused by AGP who disappears after I press OK in the table that appears. Log In is inactive.

Any thoughts what can I do?

Help is very much appreciated.

No, I do not get any messages that would indicate that something is wrong.

Another thing - how to check firewall settings for L2 in WINE? I am not a programmer and I use WINE to play EVE online mostly.

Thanks for your answer Koner.
