Many NEW players are saying the characters are messed up in the NEW download of Client. Something like chinese characters applied. Anyone have that problem? post us a screenshot please.

One of these ppl is me...
Today is my first day on server (Hello everyone) and i have this problem for first time.
As you can see all NPC names are not Lettes but varius symbols....

Is there anyone who is checking for it? Is it client problem? My problem? So?
I reinstalled the game 3 times...
Its idiotless to play like this... and i dont enjoy it...

I believe the problem is from running l2.exe from system_c1 folder, instead of the system folder.
That should solve your issue.

Guys, I had the same problem. Weird characters everywhere. Checked forum, and I saw the answer above, with starting L2 from the other system. The problem is that my account does not log from the other system. I type my account and my pass, press enter, and nothing happens. Clicked on Log in, same thing, nothing happens. It works only with the normal system, but it shows me random characters. Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks.

Alexsev, I think you are trying to login at the pvp server [it's offline]. Click L2.exe in system folder to play. If it doesnt work then..do patch again.

I am having this issue right now and when I try to launch it from the normal system folder it says the files are corrupt.

Hi , launch game from system/l2.exe
NOT from system_c1/l2.exe
If want true C1 textures use the installer located at desktop / lineage2c1 folder
NOT from system_c1/l2.exe

Your mistake is the patch is in the wrong place I think
Down Load Patch...
Copy Patch.........
Paste Patch to "Lineage II C1" folder.....
Open Lineage II C1 folder......
Open system......
Not system_c1.........
Not system_pvp.........
Click L2.exe.........
Now everything should Be fine......You can thank me in Game [Lilia]
